The “bad” genes of my make-up since parental conception
Have laid dormant for years behind a cloak of non-expression
For things haven’t gone the best in my own gene-based self
Since the age of 60, I have felt placed on a sicker-level shelf
Some genes expressed as vengeful talons, deeply dug in
My body feeling the impact, is there any chance to win?
Conception is a “card game” played by male and female
But the descendants hold the card hand to finish the tale
With no choice in saying who our parents would be
We’re a “luck of the draw” product, most would agree
Is God a gambler in “watching” our conceptions unfold?
Dare I ask this question in a manner of being so bold?
Perhaps it’s just part of nature as we’re granted free will
I look for God-given insight though good answers are nil
We’re all a product of nature — the unfolding of creation
Kept humble as we grapple to seek a divine explanation
