THANK YOU!

    • Community United Church of Christ
    • We are part of a national association of congregations that call themselves The United Church of Christ.

We understand that Christians at their core are peace makers. Peace Making takes energy and finances and operates out of the understanding that while passivity can be imposed by a strong government, true PEACE emerges from Justice and in our time that especially means Economic Justice.

Reacting to the history of many church bodies which have officially excluded and/or condemned persons of minority gender identity, we have felt that the evidence of God’s extravagant welcome is a more convincing guide to our choices on this matter. We intend to operate our lives as open to all people of good will and affirming of their contributions to this congregation and the larger community.

This particular congregation has affirmed our alliance with The Center for Progressive Christianity – a national virtual organization of congregations from many denominations that attempt to engage in theological conversations that take the Bible Seriously, but do not believe that it was ever intended to be taken Literally. For more, see the website of The Center for Progressive Christianity.

As we look at God’s great creation, we can see that God must love Diversity. Over and Over again, God has created us in so much diversity, yet each in God’s image. We intend that Wherever You are on Life’s Journey, you will be welcomed by this congregation. Welcomed to participate in worship. Welcome to bring your children to a Sunday school where they will be emotionally cared for and safe.
