God of sky and God of Earth
Your bright presence we explore
Deep within us and beyond
All our reason’s structured lore.
As we eat may we all share
Nurture with Earth’s starving poor.
Give us, God, forgiving hearts
Which affirm each other’s worth
With the grace you offer us
When our pride dissolves in mirth
And we join with those who spread
Your just peace throughout the Earth.
In our lonely times of trail,
When faith’s markers turn to sand,
Help us trust what lies beyond
All we glean with eye or hand
Till your presence gifts a truth
Love alone can understand.
God you greet us everywhere,
Both as grieving hides the Sun
Or when wonder, with delight,
Clothes us all in sacred fun.
In that wonder we will sing
Of your wholeness, Cosmic One.
