Can it be, the Divine comes to walk with us
on the road of our doubts,
our pain, our brokenness?
Walking shoulder to shoulder,
talking it out,
teasing out the flame
of our passion for life,
awakening our passion to serve life?
When we invite the stranger to dine with us,
in the blessing of the bread,
in the breaking and sharing,
comes a spark of recognition.
These fellow travelers on the path
become our teachers.
However brief the journey together,
even a single day,
is an opportunity to know
God is within us, between us, among us.
Like a charge that holds electrons
in their orbit,
the force that holds planets
in their orbits as well,
we are held in Divine embrace,
and nothing, not space or time,
can dissolve our connectedness.
