The Trans-Pacific Partnership is opposed by a great majority of voters, members of Congress, environmental groups, trade unions, consumer groups, human rights advocates, and more. We ask that you not subvert the will of the people. We ask that you stand in solidarity with the proposed Hightower Amendment to the Democratic Party Platform that we will unite to oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership if it comes up for a vote in the lame duck session of Congress or beyond.
Why is this important?
At the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership was front and center in organizing meetings and on the convention floor itself. One of the key actions was a Democratic Delegates Unity Statement Against the Trans-Pacific Partnership, signed by delegates of both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
In solidarity with the Anti-TPP Unity Statement we are inviting people from all political parties to join us. We cannot stand idly by and allow another ruinous trade deal to decimate more American jobs and put our environmental, legal, financial, pharmaceutical, food safety, and other critical protections at risk.
Thank you!
