Within our life we have two homes,
Known in our minds, and in our bones.
To one we often will return.
For one our spirits ever yearn.
For one our spirits ever yearn.
One home’s a place, carefully kept,
Where we have lived and loved and wept;
Where we go back, if but in thought,
To repossess all we have sought.
To repossess all we have sought.
Our other home knows no design,
No place on earth, no place in time.
Tis more a promise and a bond
Between what’s known and what’s beyond.
Between what’s known and what’s beyond.
Built on relationship, this home,
A dwelling of one’s very own.
We call it faith, open and free:
Our home within eternity.
Our home within eternity.
