“What does communion signify to you?” If you ask that question in a safe-to-tell-my-truth group, it’s often surprising what variety comes forth. It suggests that varying the liturgies we use can be helpful… no one approach works for everyone, but eventually everyone hears words that speak to them.
O golden doors now open wide
Revealing myst’ry’s grace,
The grace beyond the imaged word;
Beyond all time and space.
This body knows what it is like to have a nice house and a good job
It knows what it is like to feel uneasy about being wealthy
All are invited to the communion table were we celebrate Jesus’ understanding of life and death.
