So many conceptions of God… and each carefully described in words, which are by definition inadequate to capture that which they are trying to describe. Kierkegaard wrote, “If you think you understand, it isn’t God.” And yet we cannot seem to stop trying, each of us constructing an inner cosmology that makes sense to us, in our time and place.
Now the star of Christmas
shines into our day,
points a new direction:
change is on the way –
Our created and conscious selves were, some way, divinely brought about
The figurative “hand of God” as eternally present, there’s very little doubt!
Their relationship remains unclear.
They may be unlikely brothers,
or perhaps like Oscar and Felix,
they are simply an odd couple
sharing the same highrise apartment.
