New Beginnings

We make a new beginning every morning, indeed in every moment, but there is something about the yearly start in January that captures the imagination.  New projects, cleaning out last year’s clutter, New Year’s resolutions — all part of the same desire to start over and maybe, just maybe, do it better this time….  As T.S. Eliot wrote in Little Gidding from Four Quartets,

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
