Our planet is the same size it’s always been, and yet it is shrinking at an astonishing rate. Trade, travel, the Internet, instant news from places you’ve never heard of… daily we realize what a small world this is and how connected we are to almost all of it. Maintaining physical isolation is possible only in remote jungles; maintaining religious isolation is increasingly more difficult. The future does not call for us all to be the same, but to survive we will need to learn tolerance. And then we will need to teach it to our children.
The establishment of justice and peace, inclusiveness and awareness may seem an impossible dream, but it is only those who are motivated by such a vision who are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to create a better world.
