Palm Sunday is like a little glimpse of Easter, a bit of celebration after the somber tone of Lent. In many churches, the palms are saved and burned, and the ashes set aside to use the following year on Ash Wednesday.
The cyclic connection of these rituals provides us with touchstones, markers in the blur of our passing days. “We’ve done this before and we will do it again. All is well.”
