Prayer is our heart speaking. In most of our churches, we get an abundance of head speaking, which makes the balance afforded by prayer time all the more important. At its best, progressive language for prayers is lyrical and beautiful; most important of all, it rings true. Those are the prayers that help people put into words what they are feeling, help deepen their experience of the Sacred in the moment. Good prayer writing is a gift.

Many The beating of our own hearts calls us to ourselves. It calls us to be our true selves, our best selves. Calls us to be what we might become.
