Humans are story-tellers. It’s how we remember important things. (If you doubt the truth of this, ask an average church-goer on Monday what yesterday’s sermon was about. It they remember it at all, they will remember the story it contained.) Advent gives us a chance to retell our favorite story, one of new life in the midst of darkness. It is a story of hope and joy, of peace and love.
