EMBRACE FESTIVAL is a 3 day, international, sacred community and social transformation event, which will be held May 4-6, 2017 in beautiful downtown Portland, Oregon for those wishing to positively transform their lives, their local communities, and the world.
This is not your academic conference. This will be a fun celebration, with an emphasis on music, art, ceremony, learning, networking, and community. We want to expose participants to new music, new liturgies, and new ideas that inspire hopefulness about the future.
As one of the leaders in the progressive Christian movement, we have come a long way over the last several years, both as an organization and as a participant in the larger movement of progressive Christianity as a whole. As an organization we have been asking ourselves, how can we positively transform the world? How can we bring a more compassionate Christianity to the world, one that is based in respect and openness, in kindness and service? How can we enliven the wisdom path of Jesus in today’s world and offer it as a viable and meaningful spiritual journey? How can we raise Consciousness, build bridges toward Unity and Sacred Oneness, and eradicate the illusion of separation from each other?
Over the years we have worked hard to discover, create and share new language, theology, resources, curriculum and liturgies that are grounded in embodied awareness and enlightened actions and that we share online at ProgressiveChristianity.org.
But the online world can only offer us so much…. We are creatures that need real human contact for inspiration, spiritual growth and support. People feel alone in their beliefs and without the tools necessary to create meaningful community. Therefore, we have decided to call people from all over the world, to gather for this exciting and unique event.

This gathering will cultivate a global community of participants who may inpsire each other in many endeavors, healing ourselves, our communities and the planet in on-going ways moving forward.
During this celebratory festival event we will present a wide range of inspiring presentations, music, ceremony, educational workshops, inspiring art, craft and we will share in sacred community. This will be a fun, dynamic event. Our presentations will primarily be short, innovative and unique – leaning more toward the “TED TALK” like 20-25 minute presentations. Our presenters will use a variety of styles and technology- some will be more traditional, some will use a screen, some will be performance oriented and some will be interactive. We will have presentations on a wide range of topics including: eco-spirituality, social transformation, sacred community, social activism, new liturgies, sacred ritual, evolving religious language, inter-faith community, inclusion, race equality, health equity, spiritual psychology, conscious aging, Christian reformation, Christ consciousness, Buddha nature, trauma healing, sacred economy, poetry, healing through music, non-violent communication, youth and future generations, and more.
Intentions:
It is our intention that this experience will engage the hearts and minds of those present in finding the divine in each other and in all things, to inspire and enliven local movements and communities, to celebrate, play, and co-create a deeper vision for the future of Christianity and Spirituality as a whole. We aim to raise Consciousness, build bridges toward Unity and Sacred Oneness, and eradicate the illusion of separation from each other. We invite participants to be open to new music, new liturgies, and new ideas that inspire hopefulness about the future. We invite participants to embrace a global community of people who will share in inspiration and knowledge. It is our intention that practical guidance will be offered so that we might heal ourselves, our communities and the planet in on-going ways moving forward.
