Feeling connected to the Universe can happen almost anywhere, at sunrise or sunset, at the beach looking at the endless expanse of ocean, deep in the forest, or riding through the mountains as I did last month. The important thing is to know that infinity is hard to grasp, yet that is the size of the Universe. Another word for infinity is limitless. And since you are a part of what the Universe is, you are limitless also.

We are all better off when we understand and honor our connection to nature. When we learn that we can’t force nature to do what we want and that only by cooperating with nature are the best results obtained. This is an important life lesson also as we deal with everything and everyone in our lives. You can’t make another person like you or do what you want. You can’t force your ideas on anyone. Cooperation with them, however, will get the job done every time.

I grew up long before computers showed us how they could handle millions of requests all at once. So in college I began to have serious questions whenever our preacher asked everyone to bow their heads and say a silent prayer to God. And our preachers back in the 50’s and 60’s did that a lot. How could God hear all those prayers being offered up at the same time? There were several hundred at our church and many more throughout Tupelo who were in church from 11 until noon on Sunday, plus in our state and country and around the world. Lots of prayers were being offered up all at once, so how did God sort them all out.
