Forgiveness

by Rick Cypert and Jean Henderson

Bound within by my own mind,

And a day not left behind.

Circling round the memory stays,

Echoing through all my days.

I would leave it but for this

In it something is amiss.

A world not right, not right at all,

And in that stance is where I fall.

Forgiveness is the grace I seek

Self-righteousness has made me weak

To move beyond I’ll find a way:

Release the then; reframe today.
